Goodman Group, the integrated property group that owns, develops and manages logistics and business space globally, has announced it will develop a 30,000 sqm turn- key light manufacturing facility for Ingersoll Rand Equipment Manufacturing at the Kolín- Ovčáry industrial zone in the Czech Republic.
Ingersoll-Rand is a US listed diversified, global company that provides products, services and solutions to enhance the comfort of air in homes and buildings. It also manufactures cooling devices for freight transport to protect food and perishables.
The development comprises a single story modern facility, with a two story office building, for the manufacturing, light assembly and distribution of climate control systems. Delivery of the completed development is scheduled for August 2013.
Goodman will develop the industrial facility on a 90,000 sqm site within the Kolín-Ovčáry industrial zone, which has a total area in excess of 370 ha. Kolín-Ovčáry industrial zone has excellent access to the Czech Republic and international transport network. It is well located approximately 4 km from Kolín city centre in the Central Bohemia region, 6 km south of the D11 motorway exit Prague - Hradec Králové, and 50 km from Prague.
“We are very pleased to be undertaking this development for Ingersoll Rand, the second significant development project for Goodman in the Czech Republic secured in 2012. Transactions of this size are scarce in the prevailing economic environment and we are pleased to have finished 2012 on a successful note,” said Jakub Pelikan, Country Manager Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In line with its commitment to sustainability Goodman, in close cooperation with Ingersoll Rand, will apply for a LEED gold certification for the entire facility. The building is designed to include efficient water treatment and management and will have systems in place to reduce energy consumption.
Goodman and Ingersoll Rand were advised by CBRE on the transaction. “The expertise demonstrated by Goodman proved invaluable during the negotiations,” said Filip Kozák, Head of the Industrial agency of CBRE in the Czech Republic.
In November, Goodman received the award for the Best Warehouse/Logistics Development at the CIJ Awards 2012 for its 22,000 sqm facility leased to SAS Autosystemtechnik in Mlada Boleslav, north-east of Prague.
