Jan Palek (37) has been named Goodman’s new Country Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He moves to the new executive role after spending the last 18 months as the Goodman Technical Development Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Mr Palek will focus on growing Goodman’s position in these key markets for the Central and Eastern European region.
A crucial part of Goodman's growth strategy in these markets is to complete development of its flagship assets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia at the logistic parks in Mlada Boleslav and Senec, with total warehouse space capacity of up to 60,000 sqm and 160,000 sqm respectively. Additionally, Mr. Palek will lead the team in boosting Goodman’s commercial activities and portfolio through new developments and pursuing judicious investment opportunities.
“Because of the importance of the Czech Republic and Slovakia to our expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, it was necessary for us to choose a leader that combines business acumen and solid technical knowledge,” said Błażej Ciesielczak, Goodman Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe. “Jan Palek’s engineering background and extensive experience in acquisitions makes him the perfect choice to lead our Czech-Slovak team.”
Jan Palek graduated from VUT Brno in civil engineering and he is a chartered civil engineer of the ČKAIT as well as an accredited LEED Green Associate of USGBC. Before joining Goodman, Mr. Palek worked for five years at Skanska Property Czech Republic where he led commercial projects in different stages of development within Skanska’s portfolio. Previously he was a Leading Designer in the London Heathrow Terminal 5 Production & Design Team.
